It takes collective effort to create a safe and healthy working environment. By speaking up on unsafe situations, you could prevent an injury to yourself, a co-worker, or even save a life. Your involvement can make all the difference. Here’s how you can play your part:
Supervisors
Ensure all workers comply with safe work procedures, and reinforce its importance through toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
Encourage your workers to report unsafe situations internally to the company to safeguard their well-being.
You may refer to the Guide to Near Miss Reporting to learn more about internal reporting.
Workers
Follow safe work procedures.
Avoid taking shortcuts as it could result in mishaps.
Rectify or intervene in an unsafe situation, if it is safe to do so.
Report unsafe situations you see internally, or to your Union leader, or to the Ministry of Manpower.
